Monthly Memberships & Classes Policies: Cancellations, Refunds & Makeups

At our pottery studio, we keep class sizes small to ensure everyone receives personal attention and hands-on instruction. Because each spot is reserved specifically for you, we ask that you please review our cancellation and refund policy before registering:

    Monthly Memberships & Classes
    • Payments are non-refundable once the month begins.
    • You may cancel your membership at any time with at least 7 days’ notice before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the upcoming month.
    • Each student is allowed one makeup class per month, if space permits. Makeup classes must be scheduled in advance.
    • Missed classes do not roll over or accumulate for future months.

Workshops, Drop-In Classes, & Special Events
    • If you need to cancel, you may receive a full refund or studio credit if you cancel at least 7 days before the scheduled event.
    • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable. However, you are welcome to transfer your spot to a friend.
    • No-shows are non-refundable.

    Studio Cancellations

If the studio needs to cancel a class due to illness, emergency, or weather-related closure, you will receive either a makeup session or studio credit.

    Shelf Storage Policy
    • Active monthly members receive a personal storage shelf for their work.
    • If you cancel, pause, or do not renew your membership, you are responsible for clearing your shelf within 7 days of your last active class.
    • Any shelves left uncleared after this period may be emptied to make space for current members.
    • Please keep your shelf neat, organized, and labeled at all times.

    Materials, Firing & Pickup
    • Clay is purchased separately and includes bisque and glaze firings (within reasonable personal use limits).
    • Only studio-approved clay and glazes may be used.
    • Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days of completion, or they may be discarded or donated due to limited storage space.

    Community Expectations
    • Be kind, respectful, and supportive of your fellow potters.
    • Clean up your wheel, tools, and workspace after every class.
    • Arrive on time, ready to create, and enjoy the process!

    ⸻

    Glazing Class (Included)

After the class, pieces need time to dry fully and be fired once before they can be glazed.
    • One glazing session is included in the price
    • Glazing happens after the first firing
    • Glazing classes are usually held on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:00 PM
    • For larger groups, glazing may be scheduled in smaller groups across multiple sessions

It is the student’s responsibility to reach out to the studio to schedule their glazing class.
The studio does not contact students to schedule glazing.

    ⸻

    Timeline
    • Making the pieces: During your one-time class
    • Drying + first firing: Up to 4 weeks after making the pieces
    • Glazing: Scheduled after the first firing
    • Final firing: After glazing
    • Pickup: About 2 weeks after glazing

Total turnaround time is approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on kiln schedules and studio volume.

    ⸻

    Pickup & Responsibility

After glazing and the final firing:
    • Students have 3 weeks to pick up their finished pieces
    • Pickup coordination and follow-up are the student’s responsibility
    • The studio does not send pickup reminders

    If a student:
    • Does not reach out to schedule their glazing, or
    • Does not pick up their pieces within 3 weeks after glazing

👉 All pieces will be discarded and thrown away.
Due to limited studio space, the studio cannot store unclaimed work.
